EID Association BBQ & Campout

This weekend is the Associations annual BBQ and campout. For most of us this should be a time to get together outside of work and enjoy a fun day in the sun with our fellow coworkers and family. But to tell you the truth I’m torn about going.

Part of me still believes in our Association and their ability to protect us from the likes of Ane Shyster, Michele Whiner, Mary Lynn Charlatan, Deanne Klepto/Drunko, Tsuami Vicki, and Steve Setoodeh/Stupido. But the other part of me questions their true intentions and wonders if they should be doing more.

We have all wondered if our Association spends more time worrying about their own jobs instead of worrying about the collective group of employees they are elected to represent. I understand that it is difficult to protect your own careers and livelihood at the same time as trying to represent an employee that management has decided to target. I also realize that as board members you take a lot of your own personal time helping Association members. In no way do I want to discredit those few that have worked hard and truly have the best of intentions. But I have to wonder…

How did it happen that management felt they are strong enough to put a whole department on Administrative Leave without some type of recourse from the Association?

How can Management continually violate our MOU without some type of legal action?

How can you knowingly be aware of illegal actions and abuse of rate payer funds and do nothing about it?

And most of all; how is it that each and every day a large portion of us go to work in an environment that is hostile and threatening and nothing is done? No lawsuit, no Labor Board action, no complaints to the Board of Directors, nothing!

Granted, some of the things that Management has tried to do to a represented employee have been overturned or limited to a smaller punishment that is unfightable, and this has to do with the work of Joe Roes and a few of the Association Board members. But in this employees opinion it’s time for the Association to stop playing defense and to start playing some offense. Team up with the Tax Payers Association, start talking with the Grand Jury, start your own investigation on the allegations made from postings on this blog. Do something other than throw a BBQ and Campout that you have invited Management to and expect everything to be okay.

Why are we not speaking up to hold our own employee picnic and not include management? Who want s to party with the ones that chop our heads?

Oh, the picnic! I've got my little dog collar ready to wear. Leash? What leash? I'm a loyal EID employee!!

EID was a pile of steaming dung before the shyster, just ask her. She'll laugh the little false laugh and mark you for elimination. Or, ask her oh so close, "personal" friend, klepto/drunko, but only if you've got an hour to spare and don't mind the smell. EID was SNAFU for over 75 years, everything done wrong and backwards until we were rescued by the all knowing, all seeing, shyster. All power to the shyster! How lucky we are!! How did anything get done!! How much progress we've made!! Jump? How high is the only question I have!! I'm a loyal employee (and I value my kneecaps).

More awards, more pictures! More icing on the hollow, cardboard cake. More anything but being treated like a decent human being. More anything but coming in, doing a job and just having a life. I love the new EID!! I'm a loyal employee. I show up every day and get treated like dirt.

Lots of jobs in special districts and cities just like ours? The pay is good, the benefits equal or better, and no shyster! No whiner or klepto or seestupid running things. Hmmmm, I'm a loyal EID employee, but we run the district, not them. I feel sick this weekend, don't you? Wouldn't be able to eat with liars if I went anyway.

I have to totally agree that management SHOULD NOT be allowed to go to the Associations picnic! How are you suppose to enjoy yourselves if Ane Shyster and her group of puppets are there to spy on us?
I think the Association needs to uninvite them!!
By uninviting them, it will show that we are fed up with their crap and on our way to showing them that we will not be bullied any longer!
The Association's attorney can/should be addressing the Board members with the issues that have been ongoing at the District employees since Ane arrived. How can he be bullied by Ane? The Association pays his payroll, not Ane!
It's time to stop the insanity at EID!

Now you’re complaining about the association.

Let’s think logically here. You want us to believe that the Board Members are all unethical as well as EID Management. And they are all behaving unethically because; 1. they are puppets, 2. they are afraid of, and/or 3. they are being paid off by, this one lady named – Ane.

All I can say to that is… “WOW, REALLY?” And shake my head.

It makes me wonder if you have a life. You spend so much time obsessing with this it can’t be healthy.

Quit spreading rumors and making false accusations. I would suggest focusing each day on the good things that happen in your life. Everyone I’ve talked with is happy to be working for EID.

If you’re so miserable at EID and think management is so bad, why do you stick around? Then again, who would hire someone with such a negative outlook on life?

Why not join the association and put your words into actions. It is very easy to say something and not follow up with some actions. If you are teated like dirt, go somewhere else.

To Anonymous on July 19th at 12:08:

Wow, You are obviously one of Ane's puppets!!! Are you one of management that just got a big fat raise or one of us peons(sp) that got a promotion to keep your mouth shut?!?!? If you aren't then why didn't you sign your name? You totally defended management so why don't you want them to see who you are then?

you must be part of the management team.

Don't go to the picnic because "Management have been invited?" The folks who the association have invited (and the only ones who care to go) are the folks that are not represented but also not management. In other words, many people want to go and are not part of "management". Why blame them?
Also, you are so bitter, you are forgetting the folks who are putting the picnic on. Yea volunteers, and I bet you are not one of them . . .

EID Association BBQ and Campout - Are you saying, dampen everyones spirit and go so low and not go? Why not be with some fellow empoyees and have a 'little good time'. It's not going to happen at work, but why not take advantage of a little free meal and good company. A good place to air your feelings, a little shop talk. But don't forget the same fellow employees like yourself is putting this picnic on. No need to give them a bad name. . .

To those being derogatory about the association and others expressing their concerns. This blame game banter only downgrades our blog's credibility, especially to those looking from the outside, like the Grand Jury.

Don't take the bait and fall into management's trap because this is exactly what they want and it's the type of confusion ane and her management 'team' thrive on.

We need to stay focused and on point. Just state facts as we've experienced or have seen others experience. Try not to get caught up in emotion. Simply disregard and 'weed' out suspect comments, as Setoda has been heard to say, "Employees are like weeds..."

Remember that "SOLIDARITY WORKS" when everyone sticks together and works as "ONE TEAM" opposing another. Just as ane and her team of expert manipulators are doing.

I dunno, but I've got to say this: I work at EID and I'm not the "m' word, management. When I open up this blog, and I see this grade-school level name-calling, well it just seems so ugly and sad.

I'm not on your side, and I'll never be on anybody's side who thinks that name calling (really horrible things) is how to encourage open and honest discussion.

So I'm sorry, you lost me.

Grow up, or clean up your language at least.

I'm not management, but you all have to understand where their coming from. Their lively hood is on the line like the rest of us. It's just that Ane's pulling the strings more directly with mgmt. The BBq is for line staff, attend, associate with those you like and ignore the rest. Party, accept, and have fun! Until the board gets a clue... Ane rules.

In response to the questions asked by Anonymous on July 19th at 8:38...

I am not ANYONE’s puppet, I am not part of management, I didn’t get a big fat raise and there is no one or any reason for me to keep my mouth shut. I come to work, I do the best job I can, and I am happy to be here. We (EID employees, including you) receive a decent wage. If you thought you could make more somewhere else you would have gone.

I did not sign my name because I did not want to become one of your targets. I think the name-calling, rumors and unsubstantiated accusations that you carelessly make are mean. They do not help you, your cause, our working environment or anyone. Besides I thought this was a place for EID employees to openly and anonymously post their thoughts.

I noticed that you signed anonymously as well.

I just don’t understand why you are so negative and feel the need to tear others down. Your happiness, self worth and destination in life is determined by YOU and the choices you make.

Thank you for reading and letting me share my thoughts.

We all know by now that EID employees are not the only ones writing on this blog. July 20th at 9:56: You are very lucky you have not had to be involved or witnessed any of the horrific things that some of management staff are doing. Until you do, don't put down the people that have been abused. Yes EID is a great place to work and we all have great benefits and pay. We all also deserve to be treated the same.

Why are we building a new building when we have so many outside bills to pay such as tunnel litigation, Silver lake litigation and then have to house the strategic managment group. Why are we not cutting jobs in management?

Anonymous said...

Looks like the Board or Ane would have to be the ones to cut jobs in management and that's not going to happen. HR has no control over Ane. She does what she wants to.
